BMW GINA Light Visionary Model in motion
The automotive community has clearly been impressed with the vision of the BMW GINA Light Visionary Model that BMW has made this week. The fabric covering the frame with his eyes blinking prorotipo of precise movements, opening with a hood that is more like a big hungry mouth to something else and its unique ability to change its shape by moving its metal skeleton and carbon fiber electro-hydraulic mechanisms is marvelously creative and practically ingenious at the same time. We have a great debate on the car since it was announced and has surprised us the ideas BMW is exploring, though some doubt that a similar fabric may be used in a current production vehicle. While it is fun to explore in depth the dozens and dozens of pictures showing the BMW delivered GINA in various states, the video shows exactly what the concept BMW can do. Keep your eyes peeled for the headlights "wink", the meters to go, the headrest that appears out of nowhere, the magic spoiler and much more.

VIDEO: BMW GINA Light Visionary Concept discovered before its debut
BMW GINA Light Visionary Concept
BMW is preparing to launch its latest line of design study, the BMW GINA Light Visionary Model. Unlike the BMW M1 Homage Concept, it is in fact a competition car, as shown in the video released in which the prototype is shown being led from the studio to move the vehicle at the BMW Museum Munich where he was later discharged.
No details available on the roadster from BMW-web.tv site, but judging from the cabin and the great wide open, we expect something similar to M1 but with homeless many of the basic design to be seen in Homage. We will give good account of all the details of the BMW GINA Light Visionary Concept of when it is officially released next June 10.

BMW 123D touring in Michigan
BMW 123D
Imagine, if you want a compact hatchback rear which is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in a respectable time of more than 6.9 seconds. Not too bad. Now imagine that same car to be about 45 mpg. It is not possible, you say. Quite the contrary. In other parts of the world where not only used gasoline as fuel for cars is not an unprecedented opportunity. A clear example is the BMW 123D, which was launched in Europe last year. Powered by a dual turbocharged BMW 2.0L four-cylinder diesel 204CV that provides power and 295lb-ft of torque, the BMW 123D results in consumption of 45mpg (U.S.) in a combined test cycle. For now at least, BMW offers its customers no Americans none of its four-cylinder engines BMW, but the supplier Bosch has a fleet of diesel vehicles used for promotional purposes. AutoblogGreen has already tested the Smart ForTwo, Chrysler 300 and BMW 535d from this fleet and will receive three new models. One of these cars is that the 123D you see in the picture above. We look for the appropriate reviews of the BMW and the other two diesel despite the fact that we can not buy, at least for now.

Audi and BMW will use eight-speed transmissions to reach Lexus
BMW
Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota, was imitating the traditional luxury brands particularly in Europe. Almost twenty years later things have changed, as Audi and BMW will follow Lexus in the incorporation of an eight-speed BMW automatic transmissions in its models. According to Automotive News, ZF Friedrichshafen, the traditional German manufacturer of transmissions would be the supplier of the two marks. While we do not have specific details, however we expect to incorporate the new Audi transmission in the A8, Q7 and A7 in the future. According to BMW's new transmission will be incorporated into the BMW 7 Series and the new BMW X6 crossover.
The current flagship luxury sedans Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series, with six-speed automatic transmissions, while Mercedes-Benz uses its own seven-speed box. Lexus introduced its transmission speeds four to eight years, for their flagship LS model. Increasing the number of speeds, improves the smoothness, acceleration and fuel consumption. The lower fuel consumption is directly proportional to emissions, helping brands to meet the new regulations, both in Europe and the United States.

The 2011 BMW twin turbo model will produce 550 horsepower
BMW
The rivalry between M and AMG, which is a long competition and leadership of a very hard time. There is no doubt that BMW will do everything possible to surpass the performance offered by Mercedes-Benz, when presenting his new BMW M5 in 2011. This means that the current power of 501 horsepower from the BMW V10 to 5.5 liters to grow thanks to a pair of low-pressure turbocharger and a direct injection system. Predicted BMW 550 horses and more. Possible transfers may be the 6-speed manual or automatic dual-clutch BMW 7.
Nevertheless, the power is not the only thing that counts. The use of turbos and the new injection, improved rates of emissions to make the next BMW 5 Series in a car more efficient and consistent with future government regulations. Technology "start-stop" (which turns on and off the engine BMW during the delay), and the Efficient Dynamics system that uses regenerative energy under braking to avoid making the alternator work, will undoubtedly aboard powerful sedan.

BMW engines and the PSA will be used in multiple models
BMW
BMW and PSA Group joined forces to produce a four-cylinder engine of 1.6 liters, which equips the R56 MINI Cooper, but according to the chief executive of BMW, Norbert Reithofer, the engine could also be found in BMW Series 1. The press release from the interview published in the newspaper Frankfurter Zeitung Allegemeine not disclosed however that models would be available, or if they offer the two versions that BMW MINI provides normal aspiration or turbo-powered.
Reithofer also mentioned that the next generation BMW 7 Series will be presented at the end of the year, as fitting a hybrid propulsion system. Nor any details about the official launch date was given, but rather believes that it will be for BMW 2009, and developed with Daimler, as we saw with the concept BMW X5 Vision Efficient Dynamics.

BMW will increase U.S. production and supply
BMW
Following the announcement last month that BMW increased its production in the United States and cut staff in Germany, its chief financial officer Michael Ganal told the German magazine WirtschaftsWoche that the company will try to make other significant changes due to the depreciation of the dollar against the euro. At present, the volume of cars manufactured in the Spartanburg plant contributes 22% to total production of the company, however vehicles that are factory use only BMW 10% of components made by BMW. Within the next four years, the Bavarian company will focus on acquiring the raw material suppliers in the U.S., and dramatically increase the annual production now stands at BMW 240,000 units. The increase in manufacturing, supply, administrative, and revenue will help somewhat with the economic crisis affecting the country.

Rumor: BMW to work on a high speed four-cylinder turbo?
BMW
The latest rumors coming directly from Web sites specializing in BMW, the German manufacturer predicts that could be developing a new BMW 4-cylinder engine and high speed (probably 11000RPMs) for use in Series 1. It is believed that the power of this new machine would be around BMW 220 and 260 horsepower, and that would be offering a turbo version and atmospheric.
If this news BMW (not a reliable source) is accurate, then you could see the launch of this engine for 2010. But experts agree that this is the new trend of manufacturers about the future of engines, due to the high cost of gasoline and demanding requirements on emissions. More power in smaller engines has become the current fashion design. Even Mercedes-Benz has heard something.

Speculation on the possible appearance of the new BMW Isetta
BMW Isetta
What you see in the picture above is a version of what could be a BMW Isetta. While it may have been just a shot in the dark a few months ago when this was done rendering, after the revelation that BMW is considering new options for urban vehicles, roles again to get back on the table.
The design is certainly unusual compared to contemporary cars driven on our roads at present, but most likely it was the same as was thought when the original BMW Isetta debuted in the fifties. The new design BMW out for its distinctive front, although the front entrance door seems to have been replaced or supplemented by a conventional side doors, which are likely to require upgraded to new standards of safety, while the rear wheels are located near such that of the front. Although this concept is not formally adopted the original nomenclature, the name BMW Isetta (with the subtle but modern use of uppercase and lowercase) would seem to fit the spirit of renewal that BMW provides for the city of the future.

Hybrids v / s Diesel: BMW 520d beats Toyota Prius in the fuel economy
BMW 520d
The London Times has undergone a unique test to compare two different cars to measure fuel efficiency, the conclusion could be considered at least odd. A BMW 5 Series sedan that has a 0-62 mph acceleration in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of BMW 144 mph, has a superior performance to the Toyota Prius?
The BMW 520d with an optional package of "dynamic efficiency", driven by a diesel engine and BMW 520d 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 177 horsepower, had consumed 10.84 gallons of fuel in a stretch of 460 miles, while the hybrid star Toyota Prius consumed 11.34 gallons on the same route. This means that the BMW 520d has a yield of BMW 50.3 mpg while the Toyota Prius 48.1 mpg.
We believe, however, that the test is unfair because the test found only 460 miles to 100 miles city, where it highlights the Prius, while the rest were on the motorway, which is the diesel model. What if the test had seen 100 miles on the motorway and the rest in town?
