Top Cars Launches Expected In India In 2011

Year 2010 has been a very eventful year where Car and Bike Launches are concerned. Recently we covered – 94 Top Indian Car & Bike Launches Of Year 2010 on Car Blog India. 1. Chevrolet Beat with factory Fitted LPG


Recently Chevrolet has launched its sedan Chevrolet AVEO CNG in India. The choice of operating a car on cheaper and cleaner fuels like CNG and LPG works really well for car buyers who are concerned about the high running costs of the petrol cars.The very obvious benefits of a factory fitted LPG / CNG kit is that the kit is more reliable, tested for quality and safety standards and does not void the warranty of the engine unlike after-market LPG / CNG kits. Also the engine may be adversely affected with an after-market kit as the engine might not have been designed keeping the LPG / CNG fuel in mind.

2. Chevrolet Beat Diesel Launch


There is no official Information about the price or launch date of Chevrolet Beat Diesel. The launch is expected around January 2011. Mahindra Reva electric car company will launch its four seater electric car Mahindra Reva NXR In India in the year 2011. Mahindra And Mahindra President Pawan Goenka mentioned that Reba NXR Electric car will make its debut in India by 2011. The recent incentives announced by Govt. on India for electric cars will help keep the price for end consumer low and accelerate sales of REVA NXR. So far, only 2 seater variant of Reva Electric car is available in India, NXR will be the first four seater all electric car in India. Honda has unveiled its new small car, based on the Honda Small Car Concept displayed at Auto Expo 2010 in Delhi, India. The car is named Honda Brio and has been launched at the Thai Auto Show in Thailand. Brio will be a car which will be placed below the only hatchback at present in India from Honda, the Honda Jazz. Honda Brio is a compact hatchback from Honda with modern looks and design. The Brio launched in Thailand is a 4 door variant and not the 2 door as the concept vehicle. The styling is neat neat and sharp. Grille is compact and gives it a pointed look from front with two beautiful crystal headlamps. The car has been launched in Thailand as of now and will come to India about one year later. The assembly of the Brio in India will take place at the Greater Noida plant of Honda SIEL.

2012 Volks Wagen Microbus Concept Wallpapers and Review

Back in 2001 VW excited fans with the unveiling of the Microbus concept at the Detroit Auto Show. It was supposed to be produced, but it never happened. Now according to Auto Express, plans are back on to bring the Microbus concept to life.VW's chief designer, Klaus Bischoff recently told Auto Express that he feels its part of his job at VW to bring the Camper back. According to Bischoff the original plans to produce the Microbus were called off because of cost and not lack of public demand. VW is now trying to decide how bold the car should be, if it should be a traditional MPV or something more flexible and versatile.

Speculation surrounding the 2011 Volkswagen Touareg and its corporate cousin, the Porsche Cayenne, has been that the two were going to cut some of their off-road capability in their redesigns, as it was widely derided as useless. However, as the Geneva auto show nears—and therefore the two vehicles’ public debuts—information is appearing to the contrary.

Like Porsche claims regarding the Cayenne, Volkswagen says the next-generation Touareg will be upwards of 400 pounds lighter in some trims—base models will be 460 pounds lighter. Although VW does not say from where that weight savings comes, Porsche has said the Cayenne will use aluminum for the doors, hood, fenders, and some suspension components. VW hasn’t confirmed it, but we expect the same is true for the Touareg.

2010 VolksWagen Cars Beetle Bio-Bug Powered by Sewage Waste

Mohammed Saddiq, general manager of GENeco, has another idea, which would take something that's normally thought of as waste, and turn it into a way to power a vehicle. The prototype  2010 VolksWagen Cars Beetle Bio-Bug is powered by methane gas which is produced from human waste at sewage works. Another environmentally friendly car has been shown to the world today by Wessex Water in England.

Now there’s Bio-Bug, a VW Beetle that runs on the methane gas generated at a sewage treatment plant, reports The Telegraph. Wessex Water, near Bristol, England, says that human waste from the toilets of 70 homes can power the Bio-Bug for a year.

GENeco believes that more gas will be produced at its Avonmouth site when the company embarks on its latest green venture to recycle food waste. Mr Saddiq said: “Waste flushed down the toilets in homes in the city provides power for the Bio-Bug, but it won’t be long before further energy is produced when food waste is recycled at our sewage works.

At first glance, the Beetle appears to be a publicity stunt for GENeco, which owns a number of waste treatment sites in the U.K. But consider this: A single sewage treatment plant in Bristol, England generates 18 million cubic meters of biogas each year. The Bio-Bug squeezes out 5.3 miles per cubic meter of biogas. So just one sewage treatment plant could keep cars running for 5,400,000 miles each year, according to the British Daily Mail.

The Volkswagen Beetle dubbed the “Bio-Bug” was built for GENeco by UK’s The Greenfuel Company. The Bio-Bug’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine was converted to run on biogas and still hit about 114 miles per hour. However, the Bio-Bug uses regular unleaded gas to start, then switches over to methane automatically once it’s running. GENeco, a company owned by Wessex Water, supplied the equipment to treat the gas. “If you were to drive the car you wouldn’t know it was powered by biogas, as it performs just like any conventional car,” said Mohammed Saddiq, general manager of GENeco, in the release.

Mr. Saddiq explained that GENeco had been supplying treated compressed methane gas to generate electricity for the plant site and exported to the National Grid. The fuel for the Bio-Bug was surplus gas “we had available” and “we wanted to put it to good use in a sustainable and efficient way.”

The Bio-Bug was built by the Greenfuel Company, which specializes in converting gas cars to run on liquified petroleum gas.
